What exactly is a cartridge chip?

1) Cartridge chips are devices that communicate directly through a machine or via RF (radio frequency).
2) They are usually mounted on a small circuit board.
3) They have memory to store information. Sometimes there is a processor to respond correctly.

How do they work ?

Toner chips read the levels by monitoring the small count of your cartridge, or the number or ink drops used so far when printing. The chips are programmed for specific toner designs and will stop warning and printing after using a certain number of drops.

Consumer issues
